  • Chiang Mai Highlands Golf & Spa Resort

Set in the mountains east of Chiang Mai this 27-hole masterpiece of Schmidt-Curley Design is breathtakingly scenic and a cleverly challenging test of golf.Recognized among the Best Golf Resorts in Asia by The Asian Golf Awards, Chiang Mai Highlands Golf and Spa Resort has become Northern Thailand'’s premier golf destination.

Chiang Mai Highlands three courses, Valley, Highlands and Mountain, feature undulating greens guarded by dramatic bunkering and some of the finest playing conditions in Thailand. Beyond the golf, visitors are most often inspired by the scenic views.

In addition to the world-class golf course, Chiang Mai Highlands offers an open-air restaurant with a panoramic view of the golf course, mountains and valley. The property also includes a spa, private resort villas, a swimming pool overlooking the course, fitness facilities, condominiums and housing community.

The service, scenery and facilities at Chiang Mai Highlands has earned a legendary reputation for a truly memorable golf experience.

  • Gassan Panorama Golf Club Lamphun

Formally opened December 2006 under the name Gassan Marina, during 2017 it was re design by the famous golf architect Schmidt-Curley and reopen under the name Gassan Panorama

The renovation is most obvious in the condition of the fairways and excellent greens. The very large greens provide pure putting pleasure with slight but not unfair undulations. Very wide fairways give the average golfer confidence on the tee box,, its unique distinction comes from all 18 holes being designed around the contour of a large lake in Chiang Mai. Add in plenty of waterside bunkers, a backdrop of mountains, and you have a stunning vista to complement the golfing challenge, despite water carries on almost every hole.

The par three holes, the most scenic holes on the course, are both fun and challenging.

At 6,160 yards from the white tees, Gassan Panorama is a most welcome return to Chiang Mai golf.

Golfers will also enjoy winding down in their luxury club house, constructed to architecture with Dubai Arabian style. Overlooking the grand lake and surrounding mountains, and at nearly 10,000 square meter in size. Gassan Panorama Golf Club is about 40 minutes drive from Chiang Mai International Airport and the city centre

  • Chiang Mai Inthanon Golf Resort

Inthanon Golf Resort officially opened its full compliment of 18 holes in November 2009. Offering a majestic mountain view all around, it's located about an hour south-west of Chiang Mai's city-centre. The course takes its name from Doi Inthanon, the highest peak in Thailand (2,565 m. at its summit), and comprises part of the mountain range separating Thailand and Burma (Myanmar). This is another of the new courses on the outskirts of Chiang Mai, not far from Hang Dong, and was designed by Khun Suphachai Silamon.

Situated in a valley like setting, the course is well maintained with plush fairways, numerous bunkers, and several water hazards. It is a par 72 and plays at 7,268 yards from the back tees. As with many of the newer courses, the distances from green to tee make this a much longer course to walk than otherwise indicated. The back 9 is the more scenic part of this course and is an absolute joy to play. For those already familiar with Chiang Maiโ€™s more established courses, hole 18 is similar to the closing hole at Highlands with its downhill, dogleg, and water approach to the green.

The fairways and greens are in immaculate condition. Given it originally opened as a 9-hole course in late 2008, the caddies have developed a fairly good knowledge of the fairways and greens. Chiang Mai's latest offering feels and plays like a course well beyond its years, and makes for a very pleasant change from some of the other more familiar venues in and around Chiang Mai.

  • Artitaya Golf Club

Situated approximately 50 km south-east of Chiang Mai, Aritaya Golf Club ( former Gold Canyon) is settled in a rugged and rural area not far from Lamphun. Officially opening in early spring 2009, design by Khun Senit this is one of the areas newest courses. Surrounded by fields, orchards, woodlands and, of course, Canyons, Gold Canyon provides a golfer’s delight in tranquility and scenic beauty.

Given its youthfulness, it will likely be at a year before Arityay grows into its full potential. Presently, water and bunkers do not pose much of an obstacle to one’s game. However, be wary of trees, trees…and more trees! Indeed, trees can be a major problem on no less than 5 holes in so far as being inexplicably situated directly in front of the tee-boxes. Again, perhaps time will allow for a few modifications, as well as bringing more water and bunkers into play. Another 9 holes is under construction and will be ready late 2018.

Playing at just over 7,300 yards from the back-tees, Artitaya Golf Course is a par 72 course of fairly flat terrain. But be prepared to do a lot of additional walking as the distance from green-to-tee is long and often hilly. As is, this course still provides a nice change from Chiang Mai proper and introduces golfers to what may be a new trend in golf course design.

  • North Hill Golf Club

North Hill Golf Club is a new 18 holes course conveniently located only 15 minutes from Chiang Mai city center. Formally a 9 holes course called Mezzanine, the full 18 holes of North Hill opened for play on November 1, 2014. The course is 6858 yards from the back tee and 6016 yards from the white tee.

The layout is flattish and features many water hazards and well placed bunkers. Accuracy is more important than distance on this finely conditioned course. Lush fairways are a signature of North Hill making it easily playable for the higher handicapper. You can enjoy night golf here as well. The facilities are modern and spotless. The restaurant is a must visit offering both international and Thai cuisine with fine views of the course from the outside patio. North Hill will be an excellent choice for anyone looking for a relaxing day of golf close to the city.
